Welcome to GlucoBell. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the GlucoBell mobile applications (patient app and doctor app) and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By downloading, installing, or using GlucoBell, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using any part of the Service, you confirm that you are at least 13 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms. If you are using the Service on behalf of a healthcare organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

2. Description of Service

GlucoBell is a diabetes management platform that provides:

  • Patient App: Health tracking tools for blood glucose, blood pressure, medications, insulin, food intake, mood, stress, activity, and more. Includes AI-powered food scanning, OCR glucose/BP reading, health trend analysis, medical report scanning, and data export.
  • Doctor App: Patient monitoring dashboard, AI suggestion review and approval workflow, task assignment system, real-time chat, and medication management tools.
  • AI Features: Personalized health suggestions, food image analysis with nutrition estimation, and OCR-based data extraction — all subject to doctor review where applicable.
  • Communication Features: Secure messaging, push notifications, real-time data syncing, and server-sent events.

3. Account Registration

3.1 Account Creation

To use GlucoBell, you must create an account using a valid email address or Google Sign-In. You are responsible for:

  • Providing accurate and complete registration information
  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials
  • All activities that occur under your account

3.2 Email Verification

We require email verification for full account functionality. Unverified accounts may have limited access to certain features.

3.3 Account Security

If you suspect unauthorized access to your account, notify us immediately at support@glucobell.com. We are not liable for any loss resulting from unauthorized use of your account.

4. User Responsibilities

When using GlucoBell, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate health data to the best of your knowledge
  • Use the Service lawfully and in accordance with these Terms
  • Not attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
  • Not use the Service to transmit harmful, offensive, or illegal content
  • Not interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
  • Not create multiple accounts for fraudulent purposes
  • Not impersonate another person or healthcare provider
  • Respect the intellectual property rights of GlucoBell and third parties

5. Health Data & Medical Disclaimer

5.1 Not Medical Advice

GlucoBell is a health tracking and management tool, not a medical device or medical advice service. The Service, including AI-generated suggestions, food nutrition estimates, and health trend analysis, is provided for informational and educational purposes only. It does not replace the advice, diagnosis, or treatment of a qualified healthcare professional.

5.2 AI Suggestions

AI-generated health suggestions are:

  • Generated by artificial intelligence based on patterns in your data
  • Subject to review and approval by your connected healthcare provider
  • Not guaranteed to be accurate, complete, or appropriate for your specific situation
  • Intended to supplement — not replace — professional medical guidance

5.3 Doctor-Patient Relationship

GlucoBell facilitates communication between patients and healthcare providers. However, the Service itself does not create, establish, or replace a doctor-patient relationship. All medical decisions should be made in consultation with your healthcare provider.

5.4 Accuracy of Data

OCR features (glucose reading, blood pressure reading, report scanning) use machine learning that may produce inaccurate results. Always verify OCR-extracted values before relying on them. AI food analysis provides estimates, not exact measurements.

6. Doctor/Healthcare Provider Terms

If you are using the Doctor App:

  • You represent that you are a licensed healthcare provider authorized to practice in your jurisdiction
  • You are responsible for reviewing all AI-generated suggestions before they are sent to patients
  • You accept clinical responsibility for any suggestions you approve
  • You agree to use the Service in compliance with applicable healthcare regulations and professional standards
  • Patient data accessed through GlucoBell must be treated with the same confidentiality as data obtained through traditional clinical channels

7. Privacy & Data

Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information. By using the Service, you consent to our data practices as described in the Privacy Policy.

8. Intellectual Property

All content, features, functionality, software, design, text, graphics, logos, and trademarks in the Service are owned by GlucoBell or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms.

You may not:

  • Copy, modify, or create derivative works of the Service
  • Use the GlucoBell name, logo, or trademarks without prior written permission
  • Redistribute, sublicense, or commercially exploit any part of the Service

9. User-Generated Content

You retain ownership of health data and content you enter into GlucoBell. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to process, store, and transmit your content as necessary to provide the Service functionality (including AI processing, cloud sync, doctor sharing, and report storage).

10. Third-Party Services

GlucoBell integrates with third-party services including:

  • Firebase (Google): Authentication, notifications, analytics
  • OpenAI: AI food analysis and health suggestion generation
  • Cloudinary: Report image storage
  • Google ML Kit: On-device OCR processing

Use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices of third-party service providers.

11. Service Availability

We strive to maintain continuous availability of the Service but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to:

  • Scheduled or emergency maintenance
  • Server or infrastructure issues
  • External factors beyond our control

GlucoBell's offline-first architecture ensures that health tracking continues to function on your device even when cloud services are unavailable.

12. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

  • GlucoBell is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
  • We do not warrant that AI suggestions, OCR readings, food analysis results, or any other Service output will be accurate, complete, or error-free.
  • We are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.
  • We are not liable for any health outcomes, medical decisions, or actions taken based on information provided by the Service.
  • Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you have paid for the Service (which is $0 for the free tier).

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless GlucoBell, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, violation of these Terms, or infringement of any third-party rights.

14. Termination

  • By You: You may stop using the Service and request account deletion at any time by contacting support@glucobell.com.
  • By Us: We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or misuse the Service.
  • Effect: Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases. Health data stored locally on your device remains accessible to you. You may request export of your data before account deletion.

15. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated through the app or via email. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you disagree with any changes, you should stop using the Service.

16. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in India.

17. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

18. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Disclaimer, constitute the entire agreement between you and GlucoBell regarding the Service.
